Indication
Infections caused by susceptible non-penicillinase-producing organisms.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: 125 mg every 8 hours; Severe infections: 250 mg every 8 hours.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Limited data show no increased risk in pregnancy; excreted in breast milk, may cause infant diarrhea.
Key Drug Interactions
- Probenecid increases blood levels
- Allopurinol increases allergic reactions
- Tetracyclines may interfere
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to amoxicillin
- History of severe hypersensitivity to beta-lactams
- Infectious mononucleosis

- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Skin rash

- Maintain hydration to prevent crystalluria
