Indication
Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer's dementia.
Dosage (summary)
Start at 5 mg/day, may increase to 10 mg/day after one month.
Onset of Action / Duration
Onset: 30 mins, Duration: 6-8 hours

- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Safety in pregnancy and lactation not established.
Key Drug Interactions
- CYP3A4 inhibitors
- CYP2D6 inhibitors
- Anticholinergic medications
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to donepezil
- Children under 18

- Nausea
- Diarrhoea
- Fatigue
- Dizziness

- Take in the evening before bed
- Monitor for weight loss
- Avoid in severe hepatic impairment
Serious warnings
- May cause bradycardia
- Risk of gastrointestinal bleeding
