Indication
Infections due to susceptible non-penicillinase producing organisms.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: 125 mg/5 ml every 8 hours; Severe infections: 250 mg/5 ml every 8 hours.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Limited data show no increased risk in pregnancy; excreted in breast milk, may cause sensitization.
Key Drug Interactions
- Probenecid increases blood levels
- Allopurinol increases skin reaction risk
- Tetracyclines may interfere with efficacy
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to amoxicillin
- Infectious mononucleosis
- History of severe hypersensitivity reactions

- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Skin rash
