Not recommended in pregnancy; breastfeeding may be acceptable if HBV is managed.

- Hypersensitivity to components
- Moderate to severe renal impairment
- Under 18 years of age

- Nausea
- Diarrhea

- Lactic acidosis

- Monitor for signs of lactic acidosis.
- Avoid alcohol and nephrotoxic drugs.
