Indication
Treatment of depression, OCD, social phobia, panic disorder, and GAD.
Dosage (summary)
20 mg daily, may increase by 10 mg increments up to 50 mg for depression; 40 mg daily for panic disorder and OCD; 20 mg for GAD.
Special Populations
- Elderly
- Hepatic impairment
- Renal impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation; potential teratogenic effects.

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to paroxetine
- Children under 18 years
- Epilepsy
- Porphyria

- Sexual dysfunction
- Dry mouth
Counselling Points
- Take with food in the morning
- Do not abruptly discontinue
- Monitor for worsening depression or suicidality
- Avoid alcohol

- Increased risk of suicidality in children and adolescents
