Dosage (summary)
2-5 years: 5 ml three times daily; 6-12 years: 5-10 ml three times daily.
Special Populations
- Children under 2 years
- Liver impairment
- Kidney impairment
Contraindications
- Sensitivity to paracetamol, opiates or phenothiazines
- Children under 2 years
Common side effects
- Drowsiness
- Nausea
- Constipation
- Skin rash
Counselling Points
- Do not exceed recommended dose
- Consult a doctor if no response after 10 days
- May cause drowsiness; avoid alcohol
Serious warnings
- Risk of overdose leading to severe liver damage
- Dependency and addiction potential with prolonged use
- Respiratory depression in children under 2 years
