Allodrop 1 mg/ml Eye drops

Indication

Management of allergic conjunctivitis and relief of ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Dosage (summary)

Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, approximately 6 to 8 hours apart.

Onset of Action / Duration

Onset of action is typically within minutes, with duration of effect lasting up to 12 hours.

Special Populations

• Elderly patients
• Patients with hepatic impairment
• Patients with renal impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Caution is advised during lactation.

Key Drug Interactions

• No significant drug interactions reported; however, caution is advised when used with other ocular medications.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to olopatadine or any of the excipients in the formulation.

Common side effects

• Burning or stinging sensation in the eye
• Dry eyes
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Fatigue

Counselling Points

• Instruct patients to avoid touching the tip of the dropper to any surface, including the eye, to prevent contamination.
• Advise patients to remove contact lenses before instilling the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
• Inform patients about the potential for temporary blurred vision after instillation.
