Indication

Oedema and essential hypertension.

Dosage (summary)

One tablet daily for AMILORETIC; one to two tablets daily for AMILORETIC H.S.

Onset of Action / Duration

Onset: 2 hours, Duration: ~24 hours

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Lithium
  • NSAIDs
  • Potassium-sparing diuretics

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to components
  • Severe renal disease
  • Severe hepatic failure
  • Hyperkalaemia

Common side effects

  • Hyperkalaemia
  • Hypotension
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea

Counselling Points

  • Monitor for signs of electrolyte imbalance.
  • Avoid potassium supplements without monitoring.
  • Report any skin changes promptly.
