Adults: 100 mg once daily; may use 50 mg twice daily.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Elderly
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation; may cause hypotonicity in newborns.

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to atenolol
- Pregnancy
- Lactation
- Second/third-degree heart block
- Cardiac failure

- Bradycardia
- Hypotension
- Fatigue
- Dizziness
Counselling Points
- Take as prescribed
- Do not discontinue abruptly
- Monitor for signs of hypotension
Serious warnings
- Abrupt discontinuation may exacerbate angina
- Caution in asthma and peripheral vascular disease
