Indication
Delayed gastric emptying, nausea, and vomiting.
Dosage (summary)
10 mg three to four times daily before meals; max 30 mg/day.

Onset: 30 mins, Duration: 7-9 hours

- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not established safe for use during pregnancy or lactation.
Key Drug Interactions
- QTc prolonging medicines
- CYP3A4 inhibitors
- Anti-dysrhythmics
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to domperidone
- Prolactinoma
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Bradycardia
- Severe renal impairment
Common side effects
- Dry mouth
- Dizziness
- Palpitations
Counselling Points
- Report any cardiac symptoms immediately.
- Avoid driving until effects are known.
- Not suitable for children under 12 years.
Serious warnings
- Risk of QT prolongation
- Increased risk of serious ventricular dysrhythmias
- Use caution in elderly patients
