Indication
Severe iron deficiency in adults intolerant to or not responding to oral iron.
Dosage (summary)
100 to 200 mg iron (2 to 4 ml), 2-3 times a week based on hemoglobin level.
Special Populations
- Children under 14 years
- Elderly patients
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Use in pregnancy only if benefits outweigh risks; avoid during breastfeeding.

- Oral iron preparations reduce absorption of CosmoFer.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance
- Non-iron deficiency anemia
- Iron overload disorders
- Acute renal failure
- Decompensated liver cirrhosis
