Indication

Dosage (summary)

1-2 drops into each eye 4 times daily.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Safety in pregnancy not established; caution in breastfeeding.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to sodium cromoglycate or benzalkonium chloride.

Common side effects

  • Transient stinging
  • Blurring of eyes
  • Eye irritation
  • Headache
  • Skin rash

Counselling Points

  • Do not wear soft contact lenses during treatment.
  • Seek advice if ocular condition develops.

Serious warnings

  • Discard 1 month after opening
  • Risk of bacterial keratitis
