Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

- CYP450 inhibitors (e.g., cimetidine, ketoconazole)
- Fluoxetine
- Alcohol
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to desloratadine
- Cross sensitivity to other antihistamines
Common side effects
- Fatigue
- Dry mouth
- Headache
Counselling Points
- Take once daily with or without food.
- May cause sedation in some individuals.
- Discontinue before skin tests.
Serious warnings
- Risk of weight gain
- Caution in patients with epilepsy
