Indication

Initial therapy for inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic disease.

Dosage (summary)

Adults: 75 mg once daily; severe cases: 75 mg twice daily.

Onset of Action / Duration

Onset: 30 mins, Duration: 6-8 hours

Special Populations

• Elderly
• Renal impairment
• Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation; may impair fertility.

Key Drug Interactions

• Methotrexate
• Anticoagulants
• Lithium
• Digoxin

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to diclofenac
• Gastric or intestinal ulcer
• Severe renal impairment
• Active bleeding disorders

Counselling Points

• Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration
• Report any unusual abdominal symptoms
