- Renal impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not studied in pregnant or breastfeeding women; should not be given.

- Oesophageal abnormalities
- Inability to sit upright
- Hypersensitivity
- Hypocalcaemia
- Severe renal insufficiency
- Paediatric age group

- Dyspepsia
- Constipation
- Diarrhoea
- Musculoskeletal pain
Counselling Points
- Take with a full glass of water
- Do not lie down for 30 mins after taking
- Do not take at bedtime
- Monitor for oesophageal symptoms

- Risk of oesophageal irritation
- Localised osteonecrosis of the jaw
