Indication
Emergency treatment of acute gout attacks.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: 1 capsule daily, may increase to 2 capsules (max 150 mg/day). Max treatment: 3 days.
Onset of Action / Duration
Onset: 30 mins, Duration: 6-8 hours
Special Populations
- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding; may impair fertility.
Key Drug Interactions
- Increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding with NSAIDs
- Enhanced effects of anticoagulants
- Increased methotrexate levels
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to diclofenac
- Severe renal and hepatic failure
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Heart failure
- History of gastrointestinal bleeding
