40 mg once daily for erosive reflux; 20 mg once daily for maintenance.

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to esomeprazole
- Co-administration with atazanavir and nelfinavir

- Headache
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea

- Take whole with liquid
- Monitor for symptoms of hypomagnesaemia
- Avoid long-term use if possible

- Risk of Clostridium difficile diarrhoea
- Severe hypomagnesaemia
- Risk of fracture
