- Hypersensitivity to dienogest
- Pregnancy

- Venous thromboembolic disorder
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Severe hepatic disease
- Sex hormone-dependent malignancies
- Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
Common side effects
- Headache
- Breast discomfort
- Depressed mood
- Acne
Counselling Points
- Take at the same time daily
- Use non-hormonal contraception if needed
- Monitor for signs of thrombotic events
Serious warnings
- Risk of thromboembolism
- Changes in menstrual bleeding pattern
- Potential decrease in bone mineral density
