Indication

Dosage (summary)
5 IU by i.v. infusion for induction; 5 IU i.m. after delivery for postpartum haemorrhage.

- Cardiovascular disease
- Elderly
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Unlikely to cause fetal abnormalities; may be present in breast milk but unlikely to harm newborn.

- Hypersensitivity to oxytocin
- Foetal distress
- Uterine hypertonicity

- Nausea

- Uterine overstimulation may cause foetal distress
