Indication
Treatment of infections caused by penicillin-sensitive organisms.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: 1.2 MU for streptococcal pharyngitis; 2.4 MU for syphilis. Administer IM once monthly.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Safety during pregnancy and lactation not established; breastfeeding not recommended.

Contraindications
- Allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins
- Neonates born to allergic mothers
Common side effects
- Candidiasis
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea

- Report any allergic symptoms
- Avoid IV administration
- Monitor for superinfections

- Serious hypersensitivity reactions
- Risk of Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction
