Indication
Treatment of relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma in adults.
Dosage (summary)
Starting dose: 4 mg/day orally on Days 1-21 of 28-day cycles.
Special Populations
- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding; teratogenic effects expected.
Key Drug Interactions
- CYP1A2 inhibitors (e.g., fluvoxamine) increase exposure to pomalidomide.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to pomalidomide
- Pregnancy
- Lactation
- Women of childbearing potential not complying with pregnancy prevention
Common side effects
- Neutropenia
- Thrombocytopenia
- Fatigue
- Pneumonia
Counselling Points
- Use effective contraception during treatment and for 4 weeks after.
- Report any signs of infection or bleeding.
- Avoid donating blood or semen during and after treatment.
