One tablet daily for adults.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended in pregnancy; avoid breastfeeding.
Key Drug Interactions
- Avoid with other tenofovir or emtricitabine products
- Caution with didanosine
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Creatinine CL < 60 mL/min for PrEP
- Creatinine CL < 50 mL/min for treatment
Common side effects
- Nausea
- Diarrhoea
- Headache

- Adhere strictly to dosing schedule
- Use additional preventive measures for HIV transmission
- Monitor for signs of lactic acidosis
Serious warnings
- Lactic acidosis
- Severe hepatomegaly
- Risk of renal impairment
