Key Drug Interactions
- Ethanol may increase abacavir AUC by 41%
- Trimethoprim increases lamivudine exposure by 40%
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to abacavir or lamivudine
- Moderate and severe hepatic impairment
- Children below 12 years of age (weighing less than 40 kg)

Counselling Points
- Inform patients about hypersensitivity risks and symptoms.
