Indication

Treatment of infections caused by susceptible micro-organisms.

Dosage (summary)

Adults: 250 mg every 6 hours; max 4 g daily. Elderly: same as adults, adjust for renal impairment.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Safety not established; contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to cefalexin
  • Allergy to cephalosporins
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation
