Indication

Short-term treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.

Dosage (summary)

1g per administration up to 4 times daily for adults >50 kg; 15 mg/kg for adults <50 kg.

Onset of Action / Duration

Onset: 15 mins, Duration: 4-6 hours

Special Populations

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment
  • Elderly

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Use in pregnancy only if necessary; caution in breastfeeding due to excretion in milk.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Probenecid
  • Salicylamide
  • Anticoagulants
  • Phenytoin
  • Flucloxacillin

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to paracetamol
  • Severe hepatocellular insufficiency
  • Decompensated liver disease
