Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

- Decreased absorption with food and polyvalent cations
- Increased GI irritation with NSAIDs

- Hypersensitivity to risedronate
- Hypocalcaemia
- Severe renal impairment

- Dyspepsia
- Nausea

- Musculoskeletal pain
Counselling Points
- Take with a full glass of water
- Remain upright for 30 minutes after taking
- Avoid taking with food or certain medications

- Risk of esophageal irritation
- Osteonecrosis of the jaw
- Atypical femoral fractures
