Indication
Treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and prevention of rebleeding in ulcers.
Dosage (summary)
40 mg IV once daily for GORD; 80 mg bolus for haemostasis, then 8 mg/hour infusion.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
- Elderly
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Caution in pregnancy; not recommended during breastfeeding.

- Clopidogrel
- Warfarin
- Tacrolimus
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to esomeprazole
- Concomitant use with nelfinavir or atazanavir

- Headache
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
