Indication

Severe life-threatening infections in adults.

Dosage (summary)

100 mg IV initially, then 50 mg every 12 hours.

Onset of Action / Duration

Onset: 30 mins, Duration: 5-14 days

Special Populations

  • Hepatic impairment
  • Renal impairment
  • Elderly

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy; unknown if excreted in human milk.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Warfarin (increased AUC)
  • Digoxin (slight decrease in C max)

  • Hypersensitivity to TYGACIL

Common side effects

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Dizziness
