- ACE-inhibitors (risk of angioedema)
- Thiazides
- Corticosteroids
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to vildagliptin
- Hepatic impairment
Common side effects
- Hypoglycaemia
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Arthralgia
Counselling Points
- Take with or without food
- Monitor for signs of pancreatitis
- Avoid driving if dizzy
Serious warnings
- Risk of acute pancreatitis
- Monitor liver function
- Not for type 1 diabetes
