Indication

Treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults aged 18 years and older.

Dosage (summary)

One tablet orally once daily, without regard to food.

Special Populations

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Not recommended during pregnancy; potential risk of neural tube defects. Not for breastfeeding.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Rifampicin decreases dolutegravir levels
  • Avoid with nephrotoxic drugs

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to components
  • Uncontrolled renal failure
  • Pregnancy
  • Moderate and severe hepatic impairment

Common side effects

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhoea
  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Rash

Counselling Points

  • Monitor for signs of depression
  • Use effective contraception
  • Do not breastfeed while on TRILATED

Serious warnings

  • Lactic acidosis
  • Severe hepatomegaly
  • Depression and suicidal ideation
