Indication

Dosage (summary)
Initial dose: 2 tablets (4 mg) for adults; 1 tablet (2 mg) for children. Adjust based on response.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended in pregnancy; may appear in breast milk.

- Hypersensitivity to loperamide
- Acute dysentery
- Acute infective diarrhoea
- Acute ulcerative colitis
- Bacterial enterocolitis
- Pseudomembranous colitis
- Hepatic dysfunction
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Children under 6 years

- Constipation
- Flatulence
- Headache
- Nausea

- Stop use if no improvement in 48 hours
- Consult doctor for chronic diarrhoea
- Avoid driving if drowsy
Serious warnings
- Risk of toxic megacolon in AIDS patients
- Cardiac events with overdose
- Discontinue if constipation or abdominal distension occurs
