Indication
Topical treatment of acne vulgaris.
Dosage (summary)
Apply to affected areas once or twice daily, leave for 30 seconds before rinsing.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Safety in pregnancy and lactation not established; avoid application on chest during breastfeeding.
Key Drug Interactions
- Concurrent use with desquamative or irritant medications not recommended.
- May cause transient skin discolouration with para-aminobenzoic acid sunscreens.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to benzoyl peroxide or excipients.
Common side effects
- Dry skin
- Erythema
- Skin exfoliation
- Burning sensation
- Allergic contact dermatitis
Counselling Points
- Use sunscreen to avoid UV exposure.
- Discontinue use if severe irritation occurs.
- Report any allergic reactions.
Serious warnings
- For external use only.
- Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas.
- May cause skin swelling and blistering.
