Dosage (summary)
Adults: 250 mg twice daily; may increase to 500 mg twice daily for severe infections.
Special Populations
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment

Safety in pregnancy not established; excreted in breast milk.
Key Drug Interactions
- Statins (lovastatin, simvastatin)
- Ergot alkaloids
- Oral midazolam
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to macrolides
- QT prolongation history
- Severe hepatic failure with renal impairment

- Nausea
