Indication

Treatment of central diabetes insipidus and nocturnal enuresis.

Dosage (summary)

Adults: 10-20 u03bcg 1-2 times daily; Children: 5-10 u03bcg 1-2 times daily.

Onset of Action / Duration

Onset: 2 hours, Duration: 5-9 hours.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Safety in pregnancy not established; minimal transfer to breast milk.

  • Renal diabetes insipidus
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Peripheral vascular disease
  • Cardiac insufficiency

  • Nasal congestion
  • Epistaxis
  • Headache
  • Nausea

Counselling Points

  • Limit fluid intake before and after administration
  • Monitor for signs of hyponatraemia
  • Administer under supervision in children
