Special Populations

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy; unknown if excreted in breast milk.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Amiodarone
  • Rifampicin
  • St. John's wort

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Pregnancy
  • Concomitant use with strong P-gp/CYP inducers

Common side effects

  • Headache
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea

Counselling Points

  • Take with or without food
  • Monitor for signs of bradycardia
  • Do not double dose if missed

Serious warnings

  • Severe bradycardia with amiodarone
  • Hepatitis B reactivation risk
