Indication
Treatment of generalized epilepsy and manic episodes in bipolar disorder.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: Start at 600 mg/day, increase by 200 mg every 3 days; usual range 1000-2000 mg/day. Children: 20-30 mg/kg/day.

- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
High teratogenic risk; contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
