Adults: 1 mg subcutaneously or intramuscularly for hypoglycaemia.

Contraindications
- Phaeochromocytoma
- Hypersensitivity to glucagon
Common side effects
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Abdominal pain
Counselling Points
- Administer carbohydrates after regaining consciousness.
- Avoid driving after hypoglycaemic events.
Serious warnings
- Not effective in patients with depleted liver glycogen stores.
- Monitor patients with cardiac disease.
