40 mg IV once daily; max 7 days IV, then switch to oral.

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to pantoprazole
- Severe liver impairment
- Children under 18
Common side effects
- Injection site thrombophlebitis
- Clostridium difficile associated diarrhoea
- Headache
- Dizziness
Counselling Points
- Report any decrease in urine volume
- Monitor for signs of renal function decline
- Avoid driving if experiencing dizziness
Serious warnings
- Gastric malignancy may be masked
- Risk of Clostridium difficile infection
- Acute interstitial nephritis
