Dosage (summary)
Apply a thin strip into the conjunctival sac every 6 hours and at bedtime.
Special Populations
- Elderly
- Patients with glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency
- Patients with dry-eye syndrome
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Safety during pregnancy and lactation not established.
Key Drug Interactions
- Silver preparations
- Oral anticoagulants
- Methotrexate
- Phenytoin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to sulphacetamide
- Application to penetrating corneal wounds
- Concurrent use with silver salts

- Blurred vision
- Burning
- Stinging
- Nasal irritation
- Bitter taste
Counselling Points
- May cause blurred vision; use caution when driving.
- Report any rash immediately.
Serious warnings
- Risk of severe allergic reactions
- Caution in porphyric patients
