Indication
Indicated for untreated hypothyroidism.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: Initially 50-100 u03bcg daily; adjust by 50 u03bcg every 3-4 weeks. Max: 100-300 u03bcg. Elderly: Start at 25-50 u03bcg.

- Patients with cardiac disease
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Monitor thyroid function; dosage may need adjustment during pregnancy. Excreted in breast milk.

Contraindications
- Untreated hyperthyroidism
- Hypersensitivity to levothyroxine
- Untreated adrenal insufficiency
- Acute myocardial infarction
