Indication
Relief of mild to moderate pain of inflammatory origin with or without fever.
Dosage (summary)
Adults: 10-20 ml every 4 hours, max 60 ml/24h. Children 6-12 years: 5-10 ml every 3-4 hours, max 40 ml/24h.
Onset of Action / Duration
Onset: 30 mins, Duration: 6-8 hours
Special Populations
- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not recommended during pregnancy (especially after 30 weeks) and breastfeeding.
Key Drug Interactions
- MAOIs
- CNS depressants
- Anticoagulants
- Alcohol
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to ingredients
- Respiratory depression
- Severe hepatic/renal impairment
- Active gastrointestinal bleeding
Common side effects
- Gastrointestinal upset
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Nausea
Counselling Points
- Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration
- Avoid alcohol
- Monitor for signs of gastrointestinal bleeding
Serious warnings
- Risk of overdose leading to liver damage
- Potential for dependence with prolonged use
- GI bleeding and ulceration risk
