Indication
Palliative treatment of chronic myelogenous leukaemia.
Dosage (summary)
Induction: 0.06 mg/kg/day (max 4 mg). Maintenance: 0.5 to 2 mg/day.
Special Populations
- Obese patients
- Paediatric patients
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation; teratogenic effects noted.

- Cyclophosphamide
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to busulfan
- Resistance to busulfan
- Concomitant use with live vaccines

- Leukopenia
- Thrombocytopenia
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea

- Monitor blood counts regularly
- Avoid live vaccines
- Consider sperm preservation in men
Serious warnings
- Risk of pulmonary toxicity
- Bone marrow aplasia
- Hepatic veno-occlusive disease
