Indication

Dosage (summary)
Adults: 0.5-1 mg twice daily; Children: 0.25-0.5 mg twice daily.
Special Populations
- Children under 12 months
- Severely compromised liver function
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Safety in pregnancy and lactation not established; excreted in breast milk.
Key Drug Interactions
- CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole) increase exposure
Contraindications
- Lung tuberculosis
- Fungal and viral infections in airways
- Hypersensitivity to budesonide

- Mild throat irritation
- Hoarseness
- Coughing
- Candida infection

- Rinse mouth after use to prevent thrush
- Wash face after using nebuliser mask
Serious warnings
- Not for rapid relief of acute asthma episodes
- Risk of adrenal insufficiency during withdrawal
