Indication

Treatment of various B-cell malignancies and autoimmune diseases.

Dosage (summary)

375 mg/mu00b2 IV weekly for 4 doses for NHL; 1000 mg IV for RA, 2 doses 2 weeks apart.

Special Populations

  • Elderly
  • Pediatric population

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Not recommended in pregnancy; avoid breastfeeding during and for 12 months after treatment.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Fludarabine
  • Cyclophosphamide
  • Methotrexate

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to rituximab
  • Active severe infections
  • Severe immunocompromised state

  • Infusion-related reactions
  • Infections
  • Neutropenia
  • Cardiovascular events

Counselling Points

  • Pre-medicate with antihistamines and analgesics before infusion
  • Monitor for infusion reactions
