Indication
Treatment of hypotensive emergencies in adults over 50 kg.
Dosage (summary)
Initial: 0.05-0.15 mcg/kg/min; Maintenance: 0.05-1 mcg/kg/min.

- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
- Elderly patients
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Not established; may impair placental perfusion and affect fetal heart rate.
Key Drug Interactions
- Volatile halogen anaesthetics
- Tricyclic antidepressants
- Serotoninergic-adrenergic antidepressants
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to noradrenaline
- Hypovolaemia
- Concurrent use with halogenated anaesthetics

- Anxiety
- Headache
- Tachycardia
- Hypertension
- Nausea
Counselling Points
- Infuse via central vein to avoid ischemia
- Do not mix with other medications
- Monitor for signs of extravasation

- Risk of extravasation leading to tissue necrosis

- Monitor blood pressure closely
