Dosage (summary)

One capsule daily after breakfast.

Special Populations

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Not indicated for use in women; ejaculation disorders may occur.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole)
  • Moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., erythromycin)
  • Warfarin

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to tamsulosin
  • Orthostatic hypotension
  • Severe hepatic insufficiency

Common side effects

  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Ejaculation disorders

Counselling Points

  • Take after the same meal daily
  • Monitor for dizziness
  • Report priapism immediately

Serious warnings

  • Orthostatic hypotension
  • Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS)
