Special Populations

  • Severely immune compromised patients

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Safety in pregnancy and lactation not established; acyclovir passes into breast milk.

  • Probenecid increases acyclovir half-life

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to acyclovir or excipients

  • Burning or stinging
  • Drying or flaking of skin
  • Itching
