Indication

Dosage (summary)
Adults: 4-20 mg/day; start with 4 mg three times daily.
Special Populations

Safety in pregnancy not established; contraindicated in nursing mothers.
Key Drug Interactions
- MAOIs may intensify anticholinergic effects
- Additive effects with CNS depressants
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to cyproheptadine
- Closed angle glaucoma
- Bladder neck obstruction
- Prostatic hypertrophy
- MAOI therapy
- Stenosing peptic ulcer
- Pyloroduodenal obstruction

- Drowsiness
- Somnolence
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth
