Dosage (summary)

10 mL daily, diluted before infusion.

  • Renal impairment
  • Hepatic impairment
  • Elderly

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Safety not established; secreted in breast milk.

Key Drug Interactions

  • Molybdenum increases urinary copper elimination
  • Amino acids may complex with zinc and copper

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Total biliary obstruction
  • Wilsonu2019s disease
  • Haemochromatosis

Common side effects

  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Chills
  • Pyrexia

Counselling Points

  • Do not use undiluted
  • Monitor for allergic reactions
  • Maintain adequate vitamin B6 levels

Serious warnings

  • Must be diluted before use
  • Risk of hypersensitivity reactions
  • Monitor trace element levels in prolonged use
