Indication
Relief of mild to moderate pain and reduction of fever in adults via intravenous administration.
Dosage (summary)
100 ml IV infusion every 6 hours as needed, max 4 vials/day.
Special Populations
- Elderly
- Renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Key Drug Interactions
- Increased risk of GI bleeding with NSAIDs
- Enhanced effects of anticoagulants
- Reduced efficacy of ACE inhibitors
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or ibuprofen
- Severe renal or liver impairment
- Active alcoholism
- History of GI bleeding or ulcers
Common side effects
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Injection site pain
Counselling Points
- Do not exceed recommended dose.
- Monitor for signs of GI bleeding.
- Report any skin reactions immediately.
Serious warnings
- Risk of serious GI events
- Potential for liver damage in overdose
- Increased risk of cardiovascular events
